Many people who read this book are going to question how this man can say the things he say. BUT As i look around the "church" and see all the condemnation passed on to those who have gone through divorce I have to wonder if maybe this guy has it right on the head. I know that those who have read it said that it helped them not feel so completely shamed... even when the divorce is not their fault.
What he says and the things that he points out are helpful to those going through it... though I dont agree with the thought that "divorce is ok"...

This book reflects many truths concerning God's word and divorce. There is great misconception out there about divorce in the christian community. Stephen Gola was truly led of God to expose the truth about divorce. Hopefully, this book will bring an end to shame many have suffered that have gone through the pain of divorce. God does not put the institution of marriage higher than the individuals in the marriage. He cares about people, and sometimes divorce is necessary in order to save those people. And you can also marry outside the will of God. Just because you are a christian and you marry a christian doesn't necessarily mean the marriage will be blessed. He lays out all of these truths from years of study and being led of the Holy Spirit. This book was instrumental in my healing and I highly suggest it to anyone contemplating divorce. I also highly recommend it to anyone that has gone through the pains of divorce and is seeking answers. I wish every christian pastor in this country would read this book. It provides much revelation and understanding.

Very interesting take on a Christian divorce. Really, a great perspective not often considered today. There are probably a LOT of people (I can at least think of 2 families I know personally) who are suffering in a lost marriage that could do well to give up the "sacrafice" and misery to move on to fulfill God's will in their life. But then that is easy for me to say. Can't live someone else's life!
For me this book has some thoughts that helped release the burden I felt at wanting out of a bad relationship. I truely believe this to be God inspired and at least worthy of consideration. Divorce is NEVER easy and should always be approached with extreme prayer and seeking of God's will. But the scriptures are often so confusing on the subject. This book helped them to make sense. I highly recommed it. |

To describe how this book was written i would say that it is - Truly Word Based, Grounded,Heartfelt,Liberating, Loving, full of Compassion,Understanding,Wisdom and Holy Spirit Inspired. It changed my life and the bondage i was in for the beliefs we are taught and bound by. EVERY Christian MUST READ. For the sake of themselves and of those around them.

I think this book is a long time in coming. The traditional church, that I have been a part of for 30 plus years, has ostracized Christians who have been divorced for much too long. People need grace and this book delivers just that. I would recommend this book to anyone going through a divorce or considering a divorce. Thank you to the author for being bold and obedient to God's voice.

A Kid's Review
A very good book with great understanding of divorce in God's views.If I haven't read this book I would not understand they God sometimes allows divorce to take place.It also give me a better understanding of saving a relationship then saving a marriage. Very good scriptures references on the issue of "The Truth of Divorce "Very well written Chapter on the topic on "The Right of Divorce" If I haven't read your wonderful book I will never know that sometime God allow divorce to place on certain people.I am very grateful to both of you in sending the CD and the book to me for my reading.Thank both of you and God bless you. |
