My son has this book in his classroom at school, he borrows it very often. A VERY cool feature is for each animal, there is a diagram showing their approximate size in relation to a human- I have not seen this in the DK books- and it is the reason he loves this book. The animal's location is also highlighted on a world map, which is nice for tying in a geography lesson. The text is informative, I would say good for ages 4-8. I was also surprised by the low price, for a hardcover book of this size.
If your child in really into "Go Diego Go" or very interested in animals in general, I would highly recommend this book!
