Item Description... "Let not your heart be troubled . . ." Confidence can be hard to come by these days. People are losing their jobs, their houses, and their life savings at an unprecedented rate. Violence, natural disasters, and moral depravity seem to be skyrocketing. In the midst of all this chaos, we need to know... what on earth should we do now?" "In the follow-up to the "New York Times "best-seller "What in the World Is Going On?, "Dr. David Jeremiah brings a message of hope and confidence from the priceless counsel of the Word of God. He answers our most urgent questions, including: How can we weather this storm with a calm heart? What does it truly mean to "wait on the Lord"? What is Jesus saying to our chaotic world today? How on earth did we get into this mess? Can we take a broken world and rebuild it into something fruitful? "Living with Confidence in a Chaotic World "shows us all that with the power and love of Almighty God, we can live with confidence in this age of turmoil.

Reviews - What do our customers think?
 | Solid but nothing special Nov 9, 2009 |
I have heard Dr David Jeremiah's radio program "Turning Point" at various times and have heard that his books are excellent also. So the opportunity presented to my by Thomas Nelson Publishers to review Living with Confidence in a Chaotic World was a great chance to finally read one of his books. (hereafter referred to as LCCW)
LCCW is a good read. Good introductory chapter on the crises that have rocked the world in the last year. Ten solid chapters of biblical teaching with alliterated points "Stay C---" - calm, compassionate, constructive, challenged, connected, centered, confident, consistent, committed, convinced. When Dr Jeremiah refers to a specific Scripture passage, he explains its relevance to issues in 2009 well. Overall, LCCW is solid reading for continued Christian growth. You can't go wrong with good, biblical teaching.
Nonethelesss, I cannot say that I recommend you rush out and buy LCCS right away. If you do, that's fine and it will provide you with reading material that is a good reminder of biblical principles for life. Yet it did not provide me as a reader with any particular insights or observations or connections that were beyond the ordinary - as I may have expected. It did not take a particular biblical book or chapters and relate it to the issues of 2009. Except for the chapter on "Stay Connected," it did not really touch on specific applications of biblical principles that were unique to 2009, or that could not have been made 5, 10 or 50 years ago.
LCCW is a solid book, yet there are many good Christian living books available on the market (admittedly there's also lots of junk too!). While the content of the book provides good reminders for the believer, there was nothing particularly challenging to this reader, leaving me a bit disappointed (though no less appreciative of Dr Jeremiah's ministry).

| It is not what I asked for. I ordered the book and got a small workbook for this book that wasn't worth the money you took. I haven't got time to send it back due to you mistake. I am busy. Get it right the first time. | | | | Ron's "Living with Confidence in a Chaotic World" Review Oct 25, 2009 |
Many Christians get so caught up with what it means to be Christian that they become the opposite of a Christian. Mahatma Gandhi once said, "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ". Dr. David Jeremiah has truly defined what it means to be a good Christian and in doing so has blown Gandhi's statement right out of the water. "Living with Confidence in a Chaotic World" clearly defines what I have always known a Christian should be.
It is about being, living and thinking as Christ. To achieve an absolute Christ Consciousness through the totality of our Being is the ultimate goal of the Heaven bound student of Jesus. We are to be true disciples! In so being it is our duty to evaluate all our actions and recognize why or why not they are matching up to those of our savior. At this point we must be prepared, through the knowledge of Scripture, to choose to be righteous.
Dr. Jeremiah illustrates how we should stay calm, compassionate, connected, confident and consistent in our journey to be like Christ. In doing so, we will achieve incredible things in our journey with Spirit. Our Gifts must be used for His purpose; to help others to reconnect with what is all good and righteous.
"Living with Confidence in a Chaotic World" does a wonderful job of using real life experiences and heartfelt stories to truly exemplify what the author wishes to project onto the souls of his readers. There are many wonderful antic dotes which through the use of humor clearly get his point across to the reader.
Personally, this book came into my life just at the right time. It answered many of the nagging questions that have lingered in my mind over the last few weeks and has brought me totally back "online" with Christ. Stay the course, stay committed and be convinced that all things are in His hands.
I would like to thank Dr. Jeremiah for sharing his knowledge, wisdom and open mindedness with his readers. He is truly well ahead of his time and I would truly recommend this book to Christians of all denominations and all those who find themselves searching for something more.

This book came at a perfect timing for me. Things the Lord has been speaking to me about was confirmed in this book. I have found this book to be such an inspiration and filled with good scripture to back everything he says up. It's taken me a while to read because its a lot of information and you want to absorb it all. I have an issue with some books because they are so wordy that I get bored but not so with this one. It's so full of scripture and illustrative stories to drive the points home that it keeps my attention.
We are living in a day when our world is very chaotic and Dr. Jeremiah helps you to learn how to keep your focus on what's important and points you back to the truth of God's word. I would highly recommend this book to those of you who are having trouble trying to keep your focus on God in a world gone mad.

The condition of the world is that it's sick and getting worse. The condition of the Christian's world should continue to be calm and stable. Dr. David Jeremiah has written a book of hope for those wallowing in this chaotic world. After reading his book your spirit should breathe and be conditioned for this time and place we are in. Dr. Jeremiah teaches us that there are ten things we should do in order to survive in this new world.
*Stay Calm *Stay Compassionate *Stay Constructive *Stay Challenged *Stay Connected *Stay Centered *Stay Confident *Stay Consistent *Stay Committed *Stay Convinced
Dr. Jeremiah tells us that being asleep is the same as being unconscious, why aren't we awake to what's going on around us? Why aren't we praying more? Why aren't we reading the Word more and more? I liked the scenarios he painted in the beginning of each chapter, to highlight problems, but each chapter concludes with hope. I went through and highlighted key points and scriptures he threw out(and there was plenty!)
Here's a little excerpt:
"Sad times are good times for realizing God's goodness."(Living Confident in a Chaotic World, pg. 28)
This book was well written and straight to the heart of what we need most- someone who is real and upfront about the problems and confusion of today, but offers the hope in God's Word. Awake!
