I really like the ESV translation. It's effective, pure, and good. It's not occidental---like the ASV or the NASB (though fine qualities in their own part)---but quality and well developed. It's effective at delivering the good word in true form. And for the most part, the cover really reflects something of a preference of mine: namely, God's word decorated on the titular corner-base. It's true: "I am the way, the truth, and the life," says the Lord Jesus. So praise God for this good work!
Though I would have liked a blue-toned genuine leather bible, this synthetic, rubber-like material is able and of good measure. I suspect it'll last some time---at least a few years of heavy use.

| The color is definitely darker than the picture shows. When I first took it out of the box, I thought they had sent me the wrong color, as it appeared to be almost black. But, when you hold it up in the light, you catch the glimpse of blue. It's a really pretty navy blue indoors, and I assume it's the lighter blue shown in the picture in natural light/outdoors. None the less, it's a really great book (it reads the same, haha)! And, I am very satisfied with my purchase. I would definitely order this again. I personally find this ESV classic Thinline style very convenient (my favorite of the 4 Bibles/versions I have), as it's less than 1" thick, lightweight and very convenient to carry, Words of Christ in red, font is easy to read.
