I liked this book for many reasons, but the main thing I appreciated about this resource was its brevity. It is rare to find someone, even authors, who don't prattle on and on to hear themselves talk. But Bill Campbell uses sentences and phrases that succinctly supply exact situations and advice. His approach to writing and to marriage is thoroughly refreshing while still informative and clever. Some of the book seemed common sense, while the majority of the suggestions should definitely be taken to heart. Also the scriptural content was appropriate and helpful. My rating for the book was three stars because there is an overall tone of the book that suggests "don't get married if there are any problems, whether slight or enormous, with your relationship.." I heartily disagree with this approach. No one is perfect, which is why working at a marriage can be so rewarding. Other than that, great resource appropriate for couples at all stages of life and/or marriage.
